Privacy Policy

This page explains what data we collect when you visit pod-on-the-parish.com, why we collect it, and how to opt out. We aim to keep this short, plain, and honest.

What we collect

Pod-on-the-Parish is a static website. Browsing episode pages, listening to MP3s, or subscribing via RSS does not require an account. We do not ask for your name or email anywhere on this site.

When you choose Accept on the cookie banner, three third-party services start collecting standard analytics about your visit:

Google Analytics 4 — aggregate page-view and traffic-source data, used to understand which episodes get listens and where listeners arrive from. Property ID G-CYYZDNCPME.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel — page-view events used to measure whether social-media promotion of episodes drives visits. Pixel ID 578933308528170.
HubSpot tracker — session and page-view data tied to a HubSpot visitor cookie. We use HubSpot as our CRM for the podcast sponsors. Account 146532541.

If you choose Reject, none of these are loaded and no analytics requests leave your browser.

How consent works

The first time you visit the site, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page with Accept and Reject buttons. Your choice is stored locally in your browser under a key called potp_consent. Nothing fires until you choose, and your choice is remembered on this device.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page — that clears the stored choice and the banner reappears on the next page load.

Sponsors and shared data

Pod-on-the-Parish is co-sponsored by Scribe and Civic.ly. The analytics data described above flows into the same GA4, Meta, and HubSpot accounts used by Civic.ly's marketing site. That lets us understand, for example, whether listeners go on to explore Civic.ly's product pages.

We do not sell, rent, or trade analytics data with advertisers or third parties beyond the platforms named above.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. For the analytics described here, the simplest route is to reject the cookie banner — if you have not accepted, no identifiable session data is collected on our side.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify. Netlify keeps standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse-prevention purposes; those logs are independent of the cookie banner above and are governed by Netlify's own privacy notice.
